Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team as a Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse. This post will support the current Band 6 and Band 7. We are looking for candidates who are proactive and keen to assist in future developments of the service and it's staff Donald Wilson Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is a purpose-built specialist (level 2) neurological rehabilitation unit, providing post-acutetreatment for patients with a variety of acquired neurological disorders.Working closely with our in-house multidisciplinary team, we pride ourselves on providing the best possible care and outcomes for our patients. We operate within a purpose built unit on the St Richards Hospital site. We have a very cohesive and inclusive Multidisciplinary team. Offering 12 beds in a purpose built facility with a variety of bedrooms ranging from one to three beds as well as out-patient services, Donald Wilson helps people with:- Stroke, Brain injury, Spinal Injury, Multiple Sclerosis and other Non-progressive acquired neurological conditions who benefit from intensive inpatient neurological rehabilitation.,

  • Provide high quality evidence based clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust values and in accordance with professional regulations
  • Work with others to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of those in your care, their families and carers, and the wider community
  • To work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines
  • To act as a role model communicating in line with Trust values, to patients, carers and the staff at all times.
  • Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the senior nurse in charge, recognising and working within the limits of your competence.
  • Take every opportunity to continue to maintain and develop your own practice.
  • Facilitate students and others to develop their competence through supervision, teaching and role modelling.
  • To deputise for the ward manager in their absence.
