Bramley Ward is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated Deputy Leader to complement our existing friendly team. Within the CAS division we have 20 beds and care for a variety of patients both male and female, of varying ages ranges. We specialise in renal and our patients come from a diverse background.

Deputy Ward Sister / Deputy Charge Nurse 37.5 hours
Team Bramley are a 20 bedded acute medical ward specialising in the care of patients with Renal disease and patients undergoing renal replacement therapy. We pride ourselves in the quality of our nursing care.
The current Ward Leader is specifically looking for an individual whom is willing to undertake positive change and would be willing to work towards developing a specific learning pathway for you.
Bramley Ward is committed to providing the highest quality of care and maintaining consistent high standards in a professional and friendly atmosphere. We have an active Shared Governance Council.
You in turn will be fully supported and have opportunity to influence future nursing practices., We are very excited to welcome a new Band 6 into our established team. This will also include working closely with other areas within the renal speciality.
We are one trust that is split between two campus's but work well and closely together ensuring our patients receive the correct treatment and care in the correct ward / setting.

The post holder will act as Deputy to the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse. They will be required to:
Act as the deputy to the ward sister/charge nurse regularly taking charge of the ward and ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at a high standard.
Be an effective leader and role model and will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care and use experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance.
Work flexibly as a member of the ward team and in support of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.
Under take a number of managerial responsibilities such as appraisals, return to work meetings and 121's with members of the team and monthly audits.
Work closely with other members of the renal speciality team.
1st level registered nurse/degree in health nursing related studies.
Have 2 years post registration experience (desirable).
Renal Experience (essential).
Be willing to develop personally and professional.
Be willing to undertake the CAS band 6 development course.
A clinical role model.
Evidence of undertaking appraisals (desirable).
