Full Job Description

Coordinate the safe and effective running of the TAU unit on a daily basis between the hours of 8-4.
Liaise with the medical teams and trauma coordinator to ensure patient care and treatment is coordinated in a timely manner.
Work with ED colleagues to support the 4 hour waiting time target.
Carry out those activities involved when conducting the comprehensive assessment nursing requirements. Undertake the essential nursing assessment of the Trauma & Orthopaedics, taking into account all the activities of daily living.
Undertake relevant risk assessments in order to inform the care needs of Trauma & Orthopaedics
Recognise the significance of the observations made and use these to develop an initial nursing assessment., If you are an internal applicant there is the option for secondment, all applicants must have the endorsement/support of their line manager prior to application.
PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.

We require professional, flexible, motivated and committed team member capable of delivering high quality, patient-focused care within a busy, progressive and varied Trauma & orthopaedics Assessment Unit (TAU).
You will be committed to clinical excellence with effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
You should have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to develop skills within the Trauma & Orthopaedic areas.
In service training will be given and opportunities for professional development will be available.
Applicants must be a registered nurse with an NMC registration. Experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics would be beneficial
