Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a Deputy Systems Manager to join our team in Dartford, Kent. As Deputy Systems Manager you will be ensuring that our Operating Systems are adequate for business requirements, which will include reporting and auditing, and identifying potential improvements in current and new technologies.

Our Systems team provide a link between our operational teams and the information systems we use to ensure accurate and optimum usage. The team provide specialist support to users and ensure adequate training for Rydon Maintenance core systems is available and meets business needs.

This position is currently open for current employees only to apply and is a development opportunity with a 6 - 12 months progression plan to Maintenance Systems Manager., As Deputy System's Manager you will be responsible for managing a small team to ensure the Business Operational Systems are managed efficiently and effectively, and used to its full potential with appropriate training. You will liaise with Supplier accounts; in the main for our core business systems. These include Planet FM (our core facilities management software package) and DRS (software that allows us to schedule maintenance operatives to attend repair jobs and software that manages the handheld computers used by our maintenance operatives). You will also attend supplier conferences and liaise with suppliers to identify improvements in systems and usage.

Our systems support team supports numerous office locations and this role is based at our office in Dartford, Kent. We do however operate a 'hybrid working' culture, and this means that some home working is possible.

Other key responsibilities include;

  • Assist in providing demos for the bid and tender process to promote Rydon's systems

  • Manage the timely implementation of upgrades/new releases, and work in conjunction with the IT department and Head of Maintenance Systems & Operations in this regard

  • Chair/Attend regular meetings, ensuring your team understands what their job entails and that they carry out their job to a consistently high level by setting and driving challenging targets supported by Head of Maintenance Systems & Operations

  • Understand GDPR protocols work to ensure Business Systems team and systems are compliant.

  • Oversee that timely support for Rydon Maintenance core systems, is available and readily accessible to the business.

  • Work with Management teams to promote best working practise on operational systems

  • Have a working knowledge of Rydon Maintenance Core Systems; how users interact with them, how to manage and how to configure data

  • Working on projects that will provide cost savings and efficiencies to business. This will involve planning, designing, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing out projects. You will also be able to assist in mobilisation of new contracts. ensuring business systems and training are in place, in a timely manner.

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that system training needs are met and that training solutions are developed and continually reviewed for ROI and ROE.

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate;

  • A working knowledge of Rydon's core systems and a working knowledge of system configuration and set up

  • An ability to prioritise and keep to deadlines and have good oral and written communication skills

  • The ability to keep up with evolving systems and processes across the business

  • Commitment to achieving precise results

  • Good organisation skills, proven to be able to manage a 'project'

  • A keen interest in technology
