Full Job Description

We are looking for a Deputy Team Leader to assist in the management of the day to day resources to enable the support and assistance of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of all aspects of patient care. They will have to maintain a supportive learning environment enabling the team to meet the evolving needs of the service, assist in budgetary and stock control to ensure the provision of a high quality and cost effective service., Assist in the management of the day to day resources to enable the support and assistance of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of all aspects of patient care and accept the responsibility and accountability for the performance outcomes. To maintain a supportive learning environment enabling the team to meet the evolving needs of the service, assist in budgetary and stock control to ensure the provision of a high quality and cost effective service. To provide a high standard of patient care and skilled expert assistance in all specialities and areas as required. Act as an ambassador for the department in professional settings. On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational., + Acting as a resource of specialist professional knowledge bases for the team, through application of theory in practice.

+ Demonstrating and participating in development of the service to meet demands, and adapt to the changing needs of the service.

+ Promoting safe systems, which assure all aspects of risk reduction, compliant with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the agenda for Clinical Governance. Maintain Clinical and managerial records in accordance with current guidelines ensuring adverse incidents are
reported to the appropriate person without delay.
+ Maintaining Health and Safety, and Control of Infection in clinical areas in line with trust policies and procedures.
+ Delegate tasks to the team members that reflect their level of competency.
+ Deputise in the absence of the Senior Team Leader when required

Recruitment Information for Candidates

The post site is based on the Leigh site within the Day Surgery and is for Scrub, however cross site working at Wigan is required as part of the role when service requirements need. The day surgery unit cover a variety of specialties which include, general surgery, gynaecology, urology, plastics and ophthalmology, so no two days are the same.
We are recruiting to a 28.50 hour per week vacancy, working Monday to Friday.
