We are currently welcoming a Band 6 deputy ward manager to join our teams on our male acute wards.

Main duties of the job

To support the Ward manager in developing effective ward rotas, managing skill mix issues and addressing staff shortages where necessary through effective communication with the temporary staffing team.

To help manage sickness and attendance issues.

To undertake and support team members through processes such as ProfessionalDevelopment planning and Clinical Supervision.? Ensure all necessary documentation identified in organizational/local policies and procedures are completed by self and others as required.? Ensure an open channel of communication/information to the team and other members of the MDT. Representing the nurses in reviews on occasions and delivering both positive and negative reviews as required.
