Full Job Description
To effectively manage and develop a nursing team and provide professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care of patients, families and staff.
You will provide inspirational leadership to the department, be positively welcoming, effective and act as a credible role model to the team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Support Workers.
To work with nurses and other identified team members (MDT) on a one to one/group basis to develop and enhance clinical skills and practice.
To deputise for the department sister to ensure appropriate senior cover at all times.

We have an opportunity to join our Stroke Unit at Colchester Hospital as a Junior Sister / Junior Charge Nurse. The Stroke Unit is a 33 bedded unit, where e care for patients with who have suffered a stroke in the acute phase and assist them with their rehabilitation, whilst working very closely with the multi-disciplinary teams.
If you are a band 5 registered nurse who would like to develop in a leadership role then this would be a fantastic opportunity. Although Stroke knowledge and experience is an advantage it is not essential.
You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well-organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. You will have well-developed communication and change management skills and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve.
