We offer a range of learning and development for all employees may you be clinical or non-clinical., This is a fixed term 1 year appointment, initially covering a Dermatology entry level ST3 Grade junior doctor. This is with a view to on-going review and re-consideration for extension of the contract if the candidate is deemed suitable and enthusiastic for prospective application for CESR training in Dermatology.
This is in response to the needs of the department in the last few years and the increasing demand on our services in the local area. Our service covers a large area encompassing both East and West Berkshire and parts of Oxfordshire and Hampshire. We are lucky to work in very beautiful area of the country including Henley and West Berkshire., The post holder will be responsible for a mixture of inpatient reviews, outpatient clinics and minor operations along with contributing to the Skin MDT and supporting specialist nursing colleagues when needed. Secretarial and administrative support will be provided., 1. Active participation in monthly clinical governance & academic meetings within the department.
2. Participation and involvement in meetings and other business in the Dermatology service
3. The post holders will be expected to participate fully in the teaching of pre-clinical & clinical undergraduate medical students from Oxford University. They will also be expected to contribute to the programmes of F1/F2, Core Trainee and Specialist Registrar teaching.
4. The successful applicants will be expected to contribute to medical audit and clinical governance and clinical governance meetings take place on alternate months.
5. The successful candidates will be expected to maintain his/her professional development to the level set by the Royal College of Physicians. The department runs an annual appraisal system in line with the National Appraisal Scheme for Consultant Medical Staff (as outlined in MD5/01) and expects every consultant to maintain a personal development portfolio.

The Royal Berkshire Hospital achieved Foundation Trust status on 1^st June 2006. It was the first Foundation Trust in the South Central Strategic Health Authority. The Trust has a successful track record of delivering high quality acute medical and surgical services for 500,000 patients across West Berkshire, an area extending from Newbury in the west to Henley-on-Thames in the east, and including Wokingham and parts of Hampshire to the south and parts of Oxfordshire to the north.
