Full Job Description

  • Support the design office team by facilitating knowledge transfer to enhance skills and fulfil knowledge gaps where necessary to complete quality drawings for the effective progress of the project.
  • Project Design Facilitation
  • Facilitate the project team by coordinating requirements for each stage of the process and ensure the design complies with both EN & BS standards, gain client approval, interface with the factories and operations team for design related challenges.
  • Customer Focus
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal/external customers by understanding customer needs and serving as a key contact to address design challenges on projects
  • Process Compliance
  • Compliance with organisational processes and procedures to ensure smooth and accurate drawings preparation including control of tender drawings, verifying the output and ensuring effective controls are being followed in order to meet customer commitments.
  • On a typical day you will: Working alongside the sales and installation field teams regarding design and secondary structural steel for the modernisations of existing lifts, this will also incorporate any required adaptions of existing shafts for the installation of new MRL based elevators into existing buildings. working with the field teams for adaptions for new components into existing units that are under modernisation.

  • Creating 2D and 3D models in mechanical engineering software, e.g. AutoCAD or Microstation. Knowledge of other software desirable
  • Creating and interpreting General Arrangement drawings as well as detailed manufacturing drawings
  • A good theoretical and practical knowledge and experience of Design Calculations and FEA with special emphasis on Stress and Deformation static analysis.
  • Previous Experience within the Elevator and Escalator industry and knowledge of EN81 and/or EN115 desirable
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or similar
