Full Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with Program Management, customers, internal departments, and suppliers to gather relevant information for design development and documentation.
  • Create custom product designs based on customer requirements, ensuring reliability, high quality, and compliance with specifications for parts installed in the passenger cabins of commercial and private aircraft.
  • This includes:
  • 2D & 3D CAD Design (SolidWorks) and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation/management (PDM).
  • Preparing test solutions and documentation to support qualification testing.
  • Applying knowledge of manufacturing and finishing techniques.
  • Designing for moulding, sheet metal, machining, cables, PCB assemblies, and more.
  • Using 3D printing for prototyping and development, with hands-on involvement in building prototypes.
  • Understanding basic electronics.
  • Revising drawings and documentation based on feedback from stakeholders, including peers, customers, and certification authorities.
  • Conducting drawing and document checks as needed.
  • Reviewing internal and external documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participating in internal/external meetings and calls, and traveling offsite when required.

    A degree, HNC, or HND in an engineering discipline.
  • Design experience in an engineering environment (e.g., aerospace, aviation, marine, or similar).
  • Desirable Criteria:
  • Familiarity with aircraft manufacturers' qualification standards such as D6-36440, RTCA/DO-160, ABD0100.1.2, etc.
  • Skills and Attributes:
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to find solutions even when complete information is not available.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with team members across different departments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of an engineering office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SolidWorks (or equivalent design software)., Collaborative: Builds partnerships and works effectively with others to achieve common goals.
  • Effective Communicator: Communicates clearly and effectively, adapting to the needs of diverse audiences.
