Design Engineer

Develop specifications, conceptual/detailed designs, and reviews for HV/EHV cable systems while providing cost estimates and project/site support as needed.
- Deliver technical support on all aspects of HV cable system engineering and design.
- Prepare cable route layouts, bonding-line diagrams, and associated project drawings in line with UK standards and regulations.
- Author detailed technical specifications for power cables and accessorises, power cable routes, and tendering processes, along with technical and progress reports.
- Conduct advanced calculations, including cable sizing, rating calculations, thermomechanical force (TMF), electromagnetic force (EMF) analysis, and sheath-induced voltage assessments.
- Ensure project designs and documentation are complete, accurate, and construction ready. Promptly address missing information to prevent delays.
- Participate in design reviews and progress meetings, providing valuable technical insights.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and suppliers to resolve engineering challenges and maintain strong working relationships.

Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng Hons or equivalent)
- Proven experience in detailed electrical design
- Prior work experience in Electrical Power Engineering projects is desirable
- Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, CYMECAP, Mathcad, and COMSOL Multiphysics
