Full Job Description
- Develop and design engineering solutions for rail infrastructure projects.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of options and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Apply knowledge of rail engineering and work across various engineering disciplines.
- Manage projects across the full lifecycle, from design to implementation, with an appreciation for lifecycle costs.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop CDM (Construction Design Management) plans, and participate in external audits.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations and best practices in all engineering activities.
Education: Engineering degree or equivalent industry-recognised training qualification. - Skills: Demonstrable aptitude for option development and strong decision-making capabilities.
- Experience: Working knowledge of rail engineering with relevant successful experience in the principal discipline and an understanding of related disciplines.
- Teamwork: Ability to work and communicate effectively within a team.
- Industry Knowledge: Appreciation of all life cycle stages of rail infrastructure projects.
- Competencies: Experience with CDM regulations, risk assessment, and external audit. Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Membership of a relevant engineering professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE).
- Experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of rail infrastructure.
- Formal qualifications in risk identification and assessment.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification., HND or equivalent
