Full Job Description

The Jaguar Land Rover Creative Organisation is evolving to a new way of working, which will enable the execution of our Reimagine strategy. The evolved organisation includes housing various creative hubs (Vehicle, Brand, Digital, Materiality Design and Production Design), which are pivotal in our inflection towards a Modern Luxury future and reflects the growing importance to the entire enterprise. The Production Design Team consists of Surface Material Integration, Geometric Validation, and Design Launch Quality teams. A diverse group of automotive design, materials and engineering expertise that supports design finessing and design problem resolution through to the production design releases, product launch and launch vehicle quality maturation. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Production Design Launch Quality Specialists in the Launch phase of all Vehicle programmes to ensure Creative intent is policed and delivered.
  • Managing collaborative activities to optimise quality of vehicles specially prepared for product launch and reveal activities (e.g. implementing Design Intent for Launch/Reveal specifications)
  • Co-ordinating quality audits to support all Vehicle programmes for reveal and launch vehicles through to sign-off activities with PR and Communications.
  • Planning and managing the monitoring of Surface Material Integration colour mastering and harmony during the product launch era.
  • Build network and understanding between Creative and JLR prototype build sites, both in the UK and globally, to ensure alignment on quality standards and priorities.

    Proven collaboration and presentation skills, including use of PowerPoint software and ability to use internet resources appropriately for research purposes.
  • An expert level of surface quality aesthetic judgement, colour vision and colour perception.
  • Expert level experience in automotive materials, processes and suppliers.
  • Expert level knowledge of prototype and show build processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Recognised expert in their field (depth & breadth) of Vehicle Design Programmes during Launch phases.
