Full Job Description

As a Design Manager, you will be integral to the project lifecycle. Working within an experienced team, you'll guide the design process, ensuring all technical aspects align with project specifications and budgets. You will initially be focused on project delivery across varies projects around the Midlands. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire design process, from concept through construction
  • Chair design team meetings, providing direction to ensure timely, budget-compliant outcomes
  • Develop design programmes in coordination with consultants, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
  • Appoint and manage external consultants, aligning performance with the agreed project scope
  • Support bid processes by providing technical input and coordinating preconstruction efforts.

    Ideal candidates will have a proven record as a Design Manager in main contracting, with both preconstruction and delivery experience, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Architecture, Design Management, or Construction.
  • Experience: Background in a construction contractor setting, with hands-on project management experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD, Microsoft Office, and construction software.
  • Attributes: Strong communicator, proactive, team-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
