Full Job Description
- Responsible for implementing and delivering the Engineering and Design Management Activities for the Project or Portfolio of Projects you are appointed to.
- Support the setup and develop Engineering and Design Management Plans, tools and process for the Project.
- Support the project CEM in discharging the duties and requirements of the engineering management plan.
- Management and co-ordination of the Engineering and Design Management Team to ensure that the works are assured in line with Network Rail Standards and delivered in accordance with the project programme and budget. Lead the team to ensure they are supported, and resources are adequately allocated to the works.
- Responsible for implementing and delivering the Engineering and Design Management Activities for the packages of work you are appointed to.
- Monitor design maturity and provide support to the commercial teams in development of commercial strategies, price submission(s), changes etc for your packages.
- Support the Technical reports as part of the project period reporting, both internal and external.
- Responsible for the monitoring and review of the design programme, including lead design organisation, sub-contractor(s) and fabrication information programme for your packages. The programme will be updated by the Design organisations and the Engineering & Design Manager shall work with the Planning team to integrate this into the overall project programme.
- Support the Commercial team in their commercial management of design sub-contracts.
Experience in the delivery and assurance of design, construction and handback of works in accordance with Network Rail or similar Rail sector standards on similar scale or complexity of projects. - A collaborative attitude across internal teams and external teams. A collaborative approach with the ability to communicate with a number of key stakeholders at various levels.
- Proven experience and ability to develop Engineering Management procedures and systems.
- Experience of using digital systems and field tools as part of the Engineering & Design delivery of projects.
- Working toward professional qualifications.Manage the Engineering and Design for packages on a large project or projects in a framework. Support the project CEM in discharging the duties of the CEM.
