Role Overview: As a Design Technology Teacher, you will: Teaching and Curriculum:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality design technology lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach A-Level Design Technology for the right candidate.
  • Develop and refine curriculum materials that align with national standards, ensuring lessons inspire creativity, practical skill development, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Encourage students to explore design concepts, materials, and techniques while connecting practical learning to real-world applications.
  • Student Progress:
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback that supports both academic and practical growth.
  • Use assessment data to tailor your teaching, address individual learning needs, and help all students reach their full potential.
  • Professional Development:
  • Continuously improve your teaching practice by engaging in reflective activities and contributing to the development of the Design Technology department.
  • Participate in the wider school community, supporting extracurricular activities such as school projects, design challenges, and school events to enrich the student experience.

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A degree in Design Technology or a related subject.
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience:
  • Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level, with a sound understanding of the curriculum and the ability to inspire students with practical and creative learning.
  • A passion for design, innovation, and teaching students to solve real-world problems through technology and design.
