Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated designated safeguarding children's nurse who is confident and has experience of working across the health economy with children social care to safeguarding children. The post holder will job share the role of Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children/Child Protection across the London Borough of Lambeth. They will provide specialist advice, guidance, support and training to all disciplines of health care staff, and to other agencies, on all matters related to Child Protection. They will take a leading role in the continuing development and integration of evidence-based child protection practice in Lambeth health services. The post will inform the strategic thinking and direction of SEL ICS (Lambeth), and local health local partners, and they will be directly involved in the development and monitoring of child protection standards through Practice Based and other commissioning arrangements.

The post fulfils the statutory obligations under Section 7 guidance to take a professional role on all aspects of the Health Services construction to safeguard children.
