Full Job Description
The primary purpose of this post is to build and iteratively improving user-centered digital services for the Heritage Fund. In practice this will mean services that have a front end on our website, and a back end of private web-based admin interfaces. You will work with our two Senior Developers, and together you will make all key choices around languages, frameworks, hosting services and deployment approaches.
The first project you will be working on is the delivery and implementation of a replacement for the Heritage Fund's most fundamental technology system: the casework system that allows us to receive, process and award grants. It is no understatement to say that this system is the heart of the Heritage Fund's work, and the impact of delivering it successfully will be substantial. The system will combine Salesforce with other web technologies, and your team will have direct control over the technology and design choices, as well as direct control over their implementation.
Team structure and working practices will be informed by the Government Digital Service's service design manual, and teams will be sprint based and generally agile in nature.
Please note this post attracts a market supplement. The salary will be £46,869 to £53,173 (London: £50,337 to £56,641, inclusive of London Weighting Allowance) including a market supplement.
If you are excited about helping ensure that heritage is inclusive and accessible to everyone, for now and future generations, then we want to hear from you.
Applications close on 5 January 2025
Interviews are expected to take place on 14 January 2025

We have formally adopted a hybrid working approach. This means that most employees will work from their contracted Heritage Fund office twice a week at minimum. Time spent on site visits to projects or other meetings based at another Heritage Fund or external office are counted as part of those two days. The other days in the week employees may work from home.
