Full Job Description

o The post-holder has the responsibility for developing, implementing and providing a comprehensive range of Construction Cost information and Quantity Surveying services within a Healthcare setting on behalf of the Trust including the management of external parties in support of such activities.

o The role will primarily focus on the provision of clear cost advice in support of the delivery of the Trusts varied and challenging capital programme.

o They will work in partnership with key stakeholders across the Trust and provide estimated costs and associated project and portfolio cost planning. This will influence effective decision making by Executive Officers within the Trust in ensuring that capital resources are used to their greatest effect.

o The post holder will have lead responsibility and accountability on all development and construction cost forecasting and support Senior and Executive Management on all development cost matters.

o They will also be responsible for the on-going development and evaluation of stakeholder engagement strategies (including the recommendation, adoption and evaluation of external parties via Frameworks) to support the capital delivery programmes across the Trust, at Divisional Levels and the STP.

o a friendly, professional and appropriate relationship with clients, service users, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support alongside a wide base of consultants and contractors.

Main duties of the job

MANAGEMENT1. To take a key role in the continued development, support and progression of the Estates Strategy and to lead on advising internal and external parties in the preparation of project cost estimates and associated indications of approximate development outturn costs to establish the Trust's profile on specialist cost forecasting, cost certainty and securing of capital funding2. To agree, develop and implement a system of Trust Cost data sets for the Trust involving internal and external stakeholders and associated key service providers3. In conjunction with the Head of Estates Development Department and the Head of Capital Delivery, develop and monitor the Key Performance Indicators and commitments and report progress on the capital delivery plan to Trust Board4. To provide written and costed reports relating to progress on the Trust Capital Delivery Programme, as requested by Trust Board and other committees5. To review and support and share the skills mix of the teams
within the portfolio as required ensuring the best service and value for money is delivered to the Trust
