Full Job Description

Menter Brycheiniog and Maesyfed is a service that exists to promote the use of the Welsh language and aims to contribute to maintaining the use of the Welsh language in the community, support social networks of the Welsh language and increase the status of the Welsh language in all sectors. The post holder will be responsible for developing and increasing the use of the Welsh language in the Brecon and Radnor area. They will be responsible for planning, carrying out and evaluating various activities for children, young people, families and communities and working in partnership with internal and external bodies., 1. Lead Menter Brycheiniog and Maesyfed's youth work program to increase the Welsh language opportunities for young people in south Powys. Responsible for planning and developing the program up to a year in advance to reach the best possible number. Organize their own weekly and monthly work programme.
2. Raising the profile of the Welsh Language in south Powys and promoting the use of the Welsh language across the Children and Young People, Families and Communities work areas by considering research that has already been done in the
field and further investigating the needs according to activities, locations, materials, and second language children. Engage and maintain contact with schools and youth work settings to organize and hold regular sessions.
3. Planning and providing various activities within the county ensuring a fair distribution in terms of type of activity, age of the user, various locations and the geography of the county, and marketing these activities in a suitable manner.
4. Managing Children and Young People's funding to ensure fair provision and value for money across south Powys. Search and seek additional funding where possible to expand the potential of the youth work programme.
5. Coordinating, promoting and developing Welsh language services for children, youth and adults in a wider context in collaboration with other organisations.
6. Collect evidence about activities and prepare reports and papers as required including progress reports for Powys County Council and the Welsh Government under the heading 'Children and Young People'.
