Full Job Description

In this role, you will work closely with our IT team to develop, implement, and support Punch's business process applications. Working as part of our IT team, this role focuses on supporting the development and maintenance of Punch's business process applications. You will help scope, develop, and deliver applications while providing support to end-users. Key tasks include writing and maintaining code, fixing bugs, monitoring system performance, and assisting with user feedback and reporting. Duties include: · Assist in the full development cycle, including design, basic unit testing, obtaining user sign-off, documentation, training, and review. · Monitor and report on the progress of developments, helping to ensure they meet agreed timelines with stakeholders. · Support the implementation of standardised reporting and business process solutions, in line with the broader Business and IT Strategy. · Contribute to the continuous improvement of applications, helping to ensure all solutions provide the intended benefits and value. · Actively engage with Punch and broader business activities to ensure that all work and solutions are fit for purpose. · Assist in identifying and suggesting improvements to current processes and practices to help enhance solutions. · Support individual and team efforts to contribute to technical projects, assisting with tasks as needed and learning from more experienced colleagues. · Recognise opportunities for personal development, showing willingness to learn and grow in your role. - Perform your role in a professional and efficient manner, striving to meet deadlines and contribute to team goals. · Assist the IT team in providing robust support for services, contributing to first and second-line support tasks as required.

Developer Competencies: · Ability to write and debug code, preferably with some exposure to BPM software (e.g., Appian); familiarity with SQL, VBA, or object-oriented programming is a plus. · Experience with SQL Server, including writing and executing simple queries, basic understanding of database schema, and performing elementary data manipulation. · Understanding of application development principles, with the ability to apply fundamental concepts to assist in development tasks. · Ability to perform basic data analysis and troubleshooting, supporting more senior team members in resolving straightforward issues. · Awareness of coding standards and best practices, with an eagerness to learn and apply these in coding tasks. · Familiarity with software testing and debugging techniques, with an understanding of their importance in maintaining code quality.
