Development Technologist - Nutritional Products

Office based in Nottingham, working Monday to Friday office hours.
Reporting to Head of Technical, able to work on own initiative to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Salary is dependent on skills and experience.
25 days paid holiday.

Main duties and responsibilities

o Supporting Head of Technical in the development of a wide range of food supplements, including
- Overseeing the development of new formulas and products.
- Overseeing the development of prototype samples across all formats.
- Preparing new product quotations for new and existing customers and products.
o Work closely with Account Manager and Technical Admin to support with customer updates and follow ups, to offer a good service and support current and new customers/accounts.
o Meetings with suppliers and customers on/off site when required.
o Identifying and working with new materials for product innovation and further developing these to prototypes for customer review.
o Supporting the Production manager, work on process improvement, cost reduction initiatives and production trials.
o Support Purchasing and Quality colleagues' evaluating new suppliers and materials with a view to cost reduction, new product development or product improvement.
o Writing of reports and technical documents to support the technical development process.
o Keeping up to date with regulatory and legislative changes.

Applicants should have a working knowledge of the product development process and have a keen interest in health & nutrition. The ideal candidate would have experience of working in both development and be a good communicator at all levels., The role is open to graduates and non-graduates but would suit applicants with relevant experience of the food supplement sector.

Working with multiple projects to meet customer launch dates, the role would suit an individual capable of managing multiple projects and good time management skills.
