Full Job Description

Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.

The jobholder will be responsible for leading the maintenance and development of correspondence features in the EPR, and supporting all 3 Trusts in achieving their stated and aspirational digital maturity needs. The correspondence lead would benefit from a working knowledge/understanding of existing workflows or process for producing different types of printed and digital correspondence in one or more of the Trusts today e.g. appointment correspondence, clinic letters. It would also be beneficial for applicants to have some appreciation of the different interfaces to downstream systems and providers and digital portals, through which correspondence information is made available to patients and other healthcare providers.

The work will include orginating, developing and managing Change Requests which could require in depth analysis of current working practices, process mapping and policy analysis. The post holder is expected to develop a strong relationship with the correspondence stakeholders in all of the Trusts and with the EPR supplier Oracle Health to design and support new and existing build, to ensure our patients receive clear and appropriate communications and that users understand the correct workflows to use.

As lead for the correspondence the post holder is expected to take the lead on all correspondence related EPR changes, policy and service delivery, including live issue resolution. Applications are also invited from interested persons who have experience of correspondence features in Oracle Health/Cerner EPR from other organisations.

Disability Confident
About Disability Confident
A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer. It is important to note that in certain recruitment situations such as high-volume, seasonal and high-peak times, the employer may wish to limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non-disabled people. For more details please go to Disability Confident.

We welcome applications from individuals in other NHS organisations and from the private sector, please review the essential experience defined in the job description. It is important that our team continues to have a mix of clinical, administrative and technical experts and we can support you in developing skills in this fast growing and increasingly critical hospital system.

Airedale Foundation Trust are joining Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust and Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust by using their Electronic Patient Record.

We expect to welcome around 3000 new EPR users in November, and because of this we are looking for applicants to fill a range of clinical, technical and administrative roles in our Shared EPR Team.

The Team manages one of the most complex hospital systems in the UK, building new content, improving clinical workflows and ensuring that interfaces to other clinical systems are operating correctly.

If you already use the Cerner EPR (provided by Oracle Health) or are interested in being part of our team to help improve patient outcomes and staff working practice, then please take a look at the different roles on offer.

The Shared EPR Team is made up of colleagues from BTHFT, CHFT and AFT, and if you work at one of these Trusts today you can still be employed by them and join us.

These same vacancies are being advertised by all 3 Trusts, you only need to apply via the one Trust you would like to work for. Please note, you may receive communication from any of the 3 Trusts regarding shortlisting or interview. The 3 Trusts have a data-sharing agreement and information you submit will be securely held and managed.

We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children's and young people's services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS - yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members - patients, staff and the local community.
