Full Job Description

To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Developmental Specialist Psychiatrist in Older People & Frailty to join the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team based at Witham Court, as part of our Older People & Frailty division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of older adult psychiatry and who is able to support the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team.
The role is full-time at 10PAs per week., To provide a comprehensive psychiatric service to the older people residing in parts of West Lincolnshire comprising Gainsborough, South Lincoln, and surrounding areas. This entails assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all age organic/dementia and functional disorders in over 65s, although younger adults meeting certain eligibility criteria on the local transitional protocol may be suitable for the service. To work pro-actively in partnership with ward based teams and departments to improve assessment, treatment, management and discharge planning for patients with mental health problems. To play a leading role in supporting the Community Mental Health Team for older people. As an integral member of a MDT there will be an expectation to participate in local weekly team meetings where cases are discussed and management plans formulated. The role of the specialty doctor within then team is to deal with complex cases and support other members of the team so that they practice

independently as much as possible. To support the Memory Assessment Service and Management Service (MAMS) by contributing to making/formulating diagnoses of dementia in the early stage as well as managing more complex behavioural and psychological problems in the latter stage. To be familiar and up to date with relevant mental health and capacity act legislation in relation to the care of older people.

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the principal provider of NHS mental health services, as well as providing some learning disability, autism, and social care services across the county.
