Full Job Description

To act as a point of contact for the Diabetes nursing teams and provide non-clinical advice and information, dealing tactfully and sympathetically to members of the public and professionals at all times, due to the sensitive nature of calls received in the service.

To take overall responsibility for the provision of comprehensive, efficient and confidential administrative support to the Diabetes nurses, using own initiative to problem solve and prioritise the urgency of work and to act on behalf of the team when appropriate and as required., Co-ordinate and attend MDT meetings, via Teams and in person, and action outcomes from those meetings

Maintain a comprehensive spreadsheet of all pump patients to facilitate reimbursement of pump and consumables from ICB

Arranging pump/CGM training dates with company reps and liaison with patients to ensure attendance

Provide administrative support for the Diabetes nurse/dietitian DAFNE courses

Booking patients into diabetes nurse clinics and re-scheduling appointments

Contacting patients by phone or by text to remind them of their Diabetes nurse clinic appointments, 1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from black, Asian, and ethnic minorities background, identify as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development
2. Widening access (anchor institution) and employability
3. Improving the experience of staff with disability
4. Improving the EDI literacy and confidence of trust staff through training and development
5. Making equalities mainstream
