An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Diabetes Care Technician to join our Community Diabetes Service acrossStaffordshire and Stoke-on Trent. The post holder will provide care to patients attending specialist clinics and or within their home setting. Thepost holder will also be assisting the specialist nurses to deliver education and training sessions to other health care professionals and patients.You will be joining a supportive team, working as part of the Diabetes MDT alongside consultants, specialist nurses, other Diabetes CareTechnicians and psychology therapists. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the ability to work in both acollaborative and autonomous manner.We are looking for a passionate innovative person who is keen to share and develop their knowledge in Diabetes to continue the high standardsof care delivered to our patients living with this Long Term Condition.The successful candidate will receive regular supervision, oThe Diabetes Care Technician (DCT) will support the Diabetes Service in providing high standards of supervised care to adults with Diabetes.o Care will be delivered within the patient's own home or within a clinic setting.o All care will be under the supervision of qualified nursing staff and qualified staff are available for guidance as required - either directlyor indirectly.o The post holder will be required to deliver care independently but will be monitored on an ongoing basis by trained staff with competenciesregularly updated.o The post will involve lone health care working.o Ensure administrative support for registered health care professionals.o The post involves the performance of standard clinical assessments in line with procedural documentation.o To assist the specialist nurses to deliver education and training sessions to other health care professionals and patientso The post holder will be an integral member of the Community Diabetes Team.o The post holder will provide specialist care and treatment to adult patients across Staffordshire.
