An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic research nurse in the area of automated insulin delivery (closed loop systems) in adults with diabetes. The research is funded by the National Institute for Health Research and other funding agencies. The nurse will provide support for a number of multicentre research studies at the Institute of Metabolic Science on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Responsibilities include participant recruitment, blood sampling, device training and general research study administration (arranging study visits, CRF completion, database maintenance, etc.). Flexibility in working hours to cover clinics and out of hours contact is important. The postholder will work as part of a team who share responsibility for patient care during the studies and a flexible and co-operative approach to working hours is essential. You will possess good communication, organisational and IT skills, with thorough post registration experience. The ability both to work on your own initiative and as a member of the team is essential. Previous experience as a research nurse is an advantage but applicants with a keen interest in research will be considered.
