Full Job Description

A post has become available for a permanent Band 5 Radiographer/ Clinical Technologist to join the existing Nuclear Medicine team of 20.5 WTE staff. This is an interesting and varied role providing support to the day-to-day operations of the Nuclear Medicine imaging departments.

There are three gamma cameras, two with SPECT-CT capability. There is a SPECT-CT gamma camera operated on both Gloucester and Cheltenham Trust sites. At Gloucester Trust site a new SPECT-CT gamma camera has recently been installed and the department has been upgraded.

There is an in-house Radiopharmacy used for the daily manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals, which is operated jointly with the Pharmacy department, and we also carry out Nuclear Medicine Therapies.

This post is primarily to support the Cheltenham site, yet flexibility and travel between the sites will be required.

This is an exciting time to join the department as the first of 2 new gamma cameras has been installed.

Additional working pattern details: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the team and support the existing staff with the diagnostic imaging service. Applications are welcomed from candidates with a Nuclear Medicine, Radiography or Medical Physics background who possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

Nuclear Medicine is one of four departments within the Medical Physics department and there are strong links and support provided by the other Heads of Department and their respective staff. The Medical Physics Department is a strong advocate for staff training and development and is an accredited training center for the NSHCS STP & HSST training schemes as well as the IPEM Clinical Technologist training scheme.
