If so, an exciting opportunity for a Band 8A Senior Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Lead Practitioner role has arisen to join the comprehensive Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) working across our inpatient general adolescent unit (KMAH) and our intensive home treatment team (IHT) in Kent and Medway.

We are a multi skilled and professional MDT at KMAH who strive to support and achieve the best possible outcomes for those admitted to our care and prepare them for discharge back into the community. Our IHT team is made up of fully established and skilled MDT and we aim to prevent hospital admission to tier 4 services by offering intensive support in the community, as well as support early and safe discharge
Within the NELFT KMAH and IHT we have a strong focus on training and research and team members benefit from excellent training and CPD opportunities focused around developing exceptional NICE concordant skills in working with children and young people with diagnoseable mental difficulties. CYPMHS across Kent and Medway has strong links to CYP-IAPT training courses and leadership opportunities., The post-holder will be a qualified fully registered HCPC/BABCP member with a passion for working in this area. This is part of an exciting expansion of Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) specialist services. The role will work as part of a small established DBT Team. The post holder will work very closely with other professionals within NELFT and external services.
The remit of the DBT Service is to offer young people a consistent evidence-based therapeutic approach, to reduce inpatient admissions and to support the quick transitions of those in an inpatient service back to the DBT and IHT Service. The service will be expected to liaise with all CYPMHS services to ensure clear transitions for young people entering or leaving the DBT Service and where appropriate supporting the transition to Adult Services.
The post holder will be the lead and part of the delivery of a highly specialist therapeutic service to young people and their families who require a DBT Service. There will be expectations of service development, supervision and clinical work with individuals and families. The post holder will be part of the clinical team and take on a leadership role whilst being accountable to the matron, Head of Service and Associate Director for inpatient/home treatment and crisis services.
