Role Overview: The Dietetic Assistant will support the delivery of specialized care within the Tier 3 Bariatric Service, assisting dietitians in managing patients with obesity. This role is crucial for promoting healthy eating habits and helping patients achieve their weight management goals through education and support.Key Responsibilities: Nutritional Assessment Support:Assist in gathering patient information, including dietary habits and medical histories, to aid in nutritional assessments. Implementation of Care Plans:Support the execution of individualized dietary care plans developed by dietitians, ensuring adherence to recommendations. Patient Education:Provide guidance on healthy eating, portion control, and lifestyle changes to help patients manage their weight effectively. Educational Material Preparation:Assist in the development and distribution of educational resources, including meal plans and information on healthy choices. Administrative Tasks:Maintain accurate patient
records, schedule appointments, and assist in the smooth operation of clinics. Data Collection and Reporting:Collect and input patient data to track progress, supporting the evaluation of the bariatric service's effectiveness. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, surgeons, and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.Skills and Qualifications: Experience in a healthcare or dietary setting is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of nutritional principles and healthy eating practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
