Full Job Description

o To be responsible for providing highly specialist nutritional care and counselling to patients on the Acute Assessment and Frail Elderly Units (AAU and FAU) at Whipps Cross Hospital and to provide in reach service when appropriate to the Emergency Department of sameo To support the staff of the AAU and FAU in order to enable early identification and referral of patients who need expert dietetic supporto To support the junior dietitians in providing a service to inpatients at Whipps Cross University Hospital.o To supervise more junior staff on a day to day basis. o To liaise with community colleagues with regards to safe discharge and prevention of admission to hospital where appropriate.o To ensure that research and audit is undertaken on a regular basis to ensure that practice is evidence based. o To act as an expert resource on the nutritional management of inpatients and educate and train dietetic students and other health care professionals within the
trusto To be actively involved in the trust's clinical governance programme by taking a leadership role in ensuring continuing professional development, audit, research and service development activities within this specialist area.
