Working for our organisation
St.George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the regional specialist care provider for south west London, Surrey and beyond. The trust provides a high quality, comprehensive range of health services from leading edge tertiary and trauma care to community services. With national and regional referrals added to our local 3.5m catchment, we serve a population of around 5m. Acute and tertiary health services are delivered from over 1,000 beds across two sites, by around 8,000 staff.
St.George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a major acute hospital that offers very specialist care for complex injuries and illnesses, including trauma, neurology, cardiac care, renal services, gastrointestinal services, intestinal failure, cancer care and stroke.
Neuro rehab is vital in maximising patient recovery from stroke and trauma and supporting those with chronic neurological conditions. Evidence shows that the cost of early rehab intervention is rapidly offset by the longer term savings in the cost of community care.
In 2022, NHSEI London Region, the London Specialised Rehabilitation Collaborative and the London Major Trauma Network Steering Group collaborated to describe an investment aiming to address deficiencies in Level 1/2a specialised neuro rehab. This has resulted in the provision of 8 additional Level 1 beds at St George's Hospital , with the aim of providing early rapid access rehabilitation which evidence has shown to decrease the LOS for patients.

The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with the Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation MDT. The role requires strong nutrition support skills, especially in enteral feeding, whilst taking a holistic approach to patient management. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is pro-active, dynamic, flexible, has a patient centred approach with excellent communication skills.
