Full Job Description
As Digital Central Trading Manager - Tu, you'll be responsible for ensuring the Digital Trade Plan and Events deliver for our customer and commercial ambitions. You will be accountable for understanding overall Tu performance and providing updates to senior stakeholders. You'll also be responsible for overseeing Tu@Argos, where you will work in partnership with the category leads to identify and implement opportunities to improve clothing performance on the Argos channel. What outcomes I need to deliver:
- Responsible for defining the weekly Tu Digital Trade Plan (defining homepage and event priority missions) - ensuring we have clear line of sight of key activities across quarterly planning cycles with commercial/marketing, and optimising the these pages ongoing based on performance data. You'll work closely with the Brand Planning & Proposition team to ensure the Digital plan delivers for our business ambitions alongside any digital specific "moments".
- Work collaboratively with Marketing across the group to ensure Customer Plans reflect our digital ambitions and the digital channel is at the forefront of their thinking (and vice-versa)
- You'll oversee the digital orchestration of pan-category events (e.g. Easter, Christmas, Halloween) including planning, execution design and in-event trading & optimisation cross-site
- You'll lead on PIRs post events to ensure we take insight driven learnings to inform future event strategy
- Ensure our high-traffic page (e.g. Homepage) content and strategy delivers ever improving customer engagement and commercial return, and drives our KPI & experience ambitions. You'll continuously improve the performance of these pages by shaping a plan of optimisation and experimentation.
- Be on the pulse with our Digital trading performance; past, present and future to ensure we know what factors are influencing our metrics, and will create updates for your leadership group to inform stakeholders on business performance.
- You'll have oversight of clothing on the Argos channel, identifying opportunities to increase clothing penetration on Argos, working closely with both Tu and Argos category leads to identify and action recommendations (category leads will continue to merchandise their specific category pages on Argos), What decisions I can make including budget:
- Own the Tu Digital Customer and Trade Plan - allocating resource as required
- Own our homepage strategy and any optimisation calls
- Strategy and Recommendations on our Argos channel Directly or indirectly manages:
- 1x Digital Central Trading Lead (C4)
- Plus additional Mumbai based team support Support we will provide
- Coaching and support from Head of eCommerce (Clothing)

Previous experience working in Digital Trading / Commerce teams, in a large retail business, with a sound understanding of digital performance influencers and levers to pull - Experience managing homepage and high-traffic page strategies is highly desirable
- Highly competent in web-analytics (experience with Adobe desirable) to ensure the best plans are built and optimisations made
- Insight and analytically minded - able to present and interpret performance data in clear, engaging and action focused ways
- Coach and develop your direct report - ensuring they can make clear decisions and recommendations through an authentic leadership style
- Influence others to adjust their priorities where there may be conflicting concerns
- You'll be able to anticipate and resolve complex problems, removing the blockers for your team by working effectively across divisions. Experience working with multiple business functions (e.g. Marketing, Commercial) in-order to influence and drive for the best possible Digital outcomes
- You proactively look externally for ideas and inspiration. Internally, you purposefully seek diverse views, creating the space and the conditions for you to hear from others
- A strong communicator that can not only understand complex problems and challenges but communicate them in a clear and articulate way to less technical audiences.
