Full Job Description

We are looking for a creative and multi-talented individual with experience of customer relations to assist in the management of the Ogden of Harrogate online experience, across the e-commerce website, occasional newsletters and the social media presence (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram).

Client enquiries come through the website and social media channels and are initially handled by the Digital Communications and Content Officer, who will enable us to represent the best of the Ogden of Harrogate physical shopping experience online.

The Digital Communications and Content Officer will also assist with the uploading of content , including stock listing and blog pieces, to the website and the development of our social media presence in a natural and authentic way.

We are looking for an individual with a fluent and intuitive understanding of digital communications and social media. Some experience of CMS, Facebook, Google and Instagram advertising is necessary; however, far more important is a willingness to learn, an understanding of the behaviour that contributes to great customer service, and a can-do attitude.

Essential skills

  • Immaculate command of written English

  • Familiarity with and understanding of several social media channels

  • Ability to describe and accurately list the wonderful watches and jewellery we sell

  • A willingness to learn new skills according to the requirements of the job


  • Desirable skills
  • Some photography and/or film experience

  • Ability to edit photographs using image-editing software (Photoshop or equivalent)


  • Given who we are - a long established luxury retail business in Harrogate with a loyal and multi-generational customer base - we are looking for an individual who has a good sense of and a keen interest in jewellery and watches and a broad interest in high-end retail in general.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to become involved in our ongoing development and growth and to take a lead role in how we grow our markets.

    Work is in central Harrogate, 5 days per week (some flexibility allowed, but a minimum working week of 33.75 hours). Some overtime may be offered, to cover events etc., We are looking for motivated and personable applicants who are able to provide the highest level of service.

    Salary: Competitive, reviewed annually.
