HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) is responsible for the department’s civil and criminal investigations.
Cybercrime & Forensic Services (CFS) sits within HMRC’s wider Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) responsible for the department’s civil and criminal investigation work. FIS ensures that HMRC has an effective approach to taking on the most serious tax evasion and fraud.
Working across Law Enforcement and government, CFS provides Forensic and Cybercrime tools to front-line investigations and works with key partners to develop and provide access to new technology and systems to enable investigators to respond to serious and complex tax evasion and crime.

HMRC's CFS plays an integral role in His Majesty's Government's fight against serious and organised crime, supporting investigations totalling hundreds of millions of pounds each year. This requires a specialist network and technology, which the infrastructure team is responsible for supporting., As CFS grows, so does the need for Infrastructure support. The Business Manager role in DF Infrastructure is vital to the successful delivery of the Digital Forensic Infrastructure business and offers varied and challenging work, including extensive management responsibilities, managing a quality service, including resourcing and finances, and assisting with project management.
The post holder will be responsible for managing forensic infrastructure teams across 2 sites, providing support and services to the team and CFS.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Infrastructure Team deliver technology that underpins CFS business as usual activity. This supports Investigators as they capture, investigate, and analyse forensic evidence, extracted from digital media devices that have been, or are suspected of being, used in the commission of crime., + Work in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers, ensuring services are integrated, delivered, and operated as required.
+ Manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
+ HR Management of Digital Forensic Infrastructure staff across 2 sites, requiring an element of travel.
+ Act as escalation point for internal and external customers. Establish relationships and work closely with internal teams, external service providers and contractors.
+ Support and delivery of Infrastructure MI; conducting urgent and essential tasks; assisting with project work when required.
+ Working with Senior Leadership Team to agree tasking and co-ordination of team resources.
+ Assisting the Quality Manager by constructing and implementing policies/guidance, writing SOPs and helping create appendices and conducting internal audit checks as part of ISO accreditation.
+ Full responsibility for the management and reporting of DF Infrastructure procurement/finances management of infrastructure delivery.
+ Management of all aspects of team meetings, events, and conferences.

Sift

Interview

We are looking for someone who is motivated, dynamic, willing to learn and loves to work with people.
Candidates must live within reasonable daily travel of the Stratford or Nottingham Regional Centre.
Essential Criteria:
+ Experience of HR management of staff and experience of working with external providers and their contracts
+ Strong organisational skills
+ Knowledge and working experience of O365 tools and specifically skilled in Excel.
+ Experience of managing finance and budgets
+ Understanding and awareness of project management tools.
+ Experience of drafting and/or applying guidance and policy.
