This is an exciting and interesting time to join the AECOM Energy team covering all aspects of work within Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Renewables and Nuclear decommissioning, twinned with this is our ever-expanding digital scope, ensuring a variety of projects to work on. The growth of the digital team in the Energy sector requires the appointment of a Digital Lead who will ensure successful delivery of engineering projects utilising cutting edge digital technology. They will be supported by individuals in the digital team who focus on specific aspects of the overall role, such as digital advisory, implementation and optimisation. Reporting to the Director for Energy and working closely with the Growth and Strategy Lead for Energy, the successful candidate will have proven experience in organisational digital transforming and the application of "Digital by Default" to all facets of engineering project delivery. They will have strong development skills and the technical ability, knowledge, and competence to provide guidance and transform teams. Here's what you'll do:

  • Ensure the digital strategy aligns with the business line's strategic growth areas, regional digital plan and global business line digital plan. Report on progress against the strategy and any Return on Investment of digital specific funding.
  • Act as a digital champion providing technical excellence and work with leadership to ensure the right client solutions are delivered on time, cost, and to professional, quality, and legislative standards every time.
  • Support Operating Unit leadership with the development and implementation of an appropriate resourcing strategy for the business units to maximise the efficiency of the delivery of the sources of revenue, drive gross margin, and minimise risk e.g. through the use of other geographies and end markets, offshore centres, timesheet contractors, and permanent hires.
  • Work closely with Operating Unit leadership to develop recruitment, professional development, engagement and retention plans, and to promote diversity & inclusion.
  • Lead the workforce planning process to ensure the Sources of Revenue is forecasted accurately from the project backlog, internal accounting system and regularly balanced with staffing levels to optimise revenue and labour contribution.
  • Foster improvements in quality and efficiency by integrating digital tools and methodologies. Track and communicate progress using metrics such as software token usage, client satisfaction surveys, and rework rates. Enhance the success of project execution by collaborating with Project Managers and technical leaders to guarantee optimal resource utilisation and the selection of appropriate digital tools and solutions during digital audits of bids and projects.
  • Manage the growth of the digital implementation pipeline and seeking out new bidding possibilities. Evaluating and documenting the expansion in digital implementation prospects. Improving Customer Account Manager comprehension of services provided and effectively turning discussions into revenue-generating projects.
  • Assess and report on the impact of marketing communications every quarter via surveys faced both internally and externally. Complete oversight for the expansion of digital advisory pipeline by exploring bid opportunities. Engage with Customer Account Managers to improve their comprehension of digital offerings and report on their comprehension through an internal quarterly survey.
  • Lead by example by visibly driving SH&E culture, ensuring effective implementation of AECOM SH&E policies and procedures, and achievement of the SH&E core value metrics for the Operating Unit.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with AECOM Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures.
