Full Job Description
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Executive has comprehensive knowledge of digital marketing, including CMS systems and website construction, SEO, social media strategy, email software, CRM systems and data control. You will also be expected to create relevant digital content in various formats for example blogs, news articles, podcasts and webinars. You should be comfortable using your technical expertise to support and advise both managers and teams across the business on digital marketing matters. The overall purpose of the job is to provide technical expertise to the business on digital marketing matters. This will include ensuring that the Digital Marketing Strategy supports company objectives and creates a positive and dynamic company profile. The Digital Marketing Executive will be responsible for providing advice in line with current levels of best practice in digital marketing and monitoring any changes to ensure that skills and knowledge are always up to date. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and often unpredictable environment. They will co-ordinate digital marketing activity to maximise engagement with content and ensure best possible customer journey.Your tasks
- Marketing Activity & Team Support The Digital Marketing Executive will work closely with the wider Marketing function to help ensure our service delivery to internal and external customers is effective and of high quality. This will include:
- Providing support, guidance and expertise within the team and to the wider company, acting as a technical referral point and dealing with escalated queries.
- Providing an additional degree of oversight to the Marketing process and collateral (e.g. quality of e-shots);
- Working with Marketing colleagues to identify and implement improvements to the service.
- Supporting the team during periods of increased work volumes and/or where cover is needed. Due to the demands on the role you must be able to independently manage changing priorities, moving smoothly between large complex projects, such as website construction, CRM construction and development of the Broker Training platform, BAU such as social media, podcasts, e-shots, video and other unexpected and often urgent tasks. This will involve negotiation, persuasion and managing expectations, to ensure everyone is aligned behind company strategy in this area.
- MI & Reporting Ability to take a proactive approach to digital marketing data analysis and produce high level reports. This includes but is not limited to;
- Ability to collect, analyse and accurately report on measurement data.
- Produce high level reports including a monthly report for the SM meeting.
- In-depth knowledge of Google Analytics and how to use it to extract meaningful MI.
- Uses social analytics and listening tools to identify improvements to organisational processes that will enhance social reputation and increase engagement.
- Monitoring of social media to identify any issues, understanding of crisis management and how to escalate complaints.
- Content Creation
- Ability to create and update cost-effective corporate content, across all relevant digital mediums.
- Ability to write high quality engaging copy to a high standard for web, social media, blogs and articles. Able to proofread to a high standard.
- Good working knowledge of email software e.g. Enabler, Survey monkey.
- Ability to create high quality video and podcast content. Good working knowledge Premier Pro.
- Ability to use expertise to enable other departments around the company to create and circulate content relevant to their needs and in line with company strategy e.g. ACT (ARAG Charity Team), Wellbeing, CSR and L&D.
- CRM Responsible for the implementation and maintence of the new CRM system, this will include but is not limited to;
- Liaising with other departments within the business particularly Sales and IT to assess and interpret their requirements of the new system.
- Closely comparing competing systems and analysing their relative strengths and weaknesses.
- Assisting with the data cleansing process, to ensure we start the new system with high quality data.
- Scoping the requirements of the system from the information gathered, ensuring that the requirements of each stakeholder is met.
- Running the supplier relationship with the CRM system selected, ensuring that the required support is provided.
- Update, amend and add additional data to the system as required.
- Ensuring the new system is maximised to deliver ongoing measurable results for the business.
- Digital Strategy Working in conjunction with marketing and sales colleagues, effectively creating and executing digital strategy in line with the Marketing plan. Delivering digital content on time, within budget and always with ROI in mind. In doing so, the Digital Marketing Executive will:
- Offer specialist assistance and advice to colleagues at different levels and in different areas of the business and be a specialist resource in all areas of digital marketing. Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Contribute information and ideas to the organisational strategy process in terms of digital capability.
- Embedding and implementation of digital capability into marketing plans to the benefit of the customer.
- Able to generate innovative ideas for digital strategy.
- Able to use expertise to train and support others in use of digital tools.
- Develop and manage all integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution, ensuring all activites align with our wider business goals and remain on brand from a messaging and visual perspective.
- Work closely with colleagues from around the business and in Germany to ensure projects and initiatives run smoothly and any last-minute issues are resolved.
- Attend any high-level meetings where specialist digital marketing advice is required and maintain a focus on the wider business needs.
- Negotiate contractual terms with third party suppliers, ensuring competitive rates are achieved, monitoring their performance and dealing with any underperformance issues.
- Build and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Deal quickly and effectively with any unexpected issues or problems that arise, ensuring the best possible outcome.
- Website Development & Maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of CMS systems, ability to build, update and amend websites.
- An in-depth knowledge of SEO, able to formulate a plan to enhance our current websites in line with SEO best practice.
- Ability to enhance websites, research innovations in the market and using the information to add additional functionality e.g. Live chat.
- In-depth understanding of Google Analytics and how to interpret and improve website traffic.
- Responsibility for auditing the website and ensuring all information on it is up to date and relevant.
- Responsibility for ensuring all process requirements of a website are met including legal and compliance policies and disclaimers.
- Able to establish a close working relationship with Germany in order to share and contribute to ideas to update and improve the in-house CMS system (Imperia).
- Ensure that your skills base is regularly updated, and you are aware of the latest developments in this fast-moving area.
- Broker Training Platform Responsible for running the Broker Training Platform, this includes but is not limited to;
- Managing the relationship with the company that supplies the platform and ensuring we benefit from any innovations and updates.
- Championing the system inside the company to increase external and internal engagement, finding new ways to promote the system and increase levels of engagement.
- Load, update and amend new content to the system.
- Ensuring any new content is promoted via relevant digital platforms.
Minimum of 3yrs Digital Marketing experience - CIM/other relevant degree or equivalent through experience/qualification
- Sound knowledge of Google Analytics, including Tag manager and Search Console
- Experience of chairing/attending/leading meetings
- Strong up to date knowledge of Digital Marketing
- Sound knowledge of CMS/CRM systems
- Able to work using your own initiative
- Strong and demonstrable skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience of SEO
- Good working knowledge of email software
- Experience of project management
- Copywriting and proof-reading experience
- Content creation experience
- Ability to code HTML/CSS would be very useful
- Insurance Market knowledge, particularly LEI
