Full Job Description

As a Digitalization Engineer you will oversee projects and provide operational assistance. You will play a crucial role in spotting digitalization opportunities that align with the company's business strategy and understand how each phase of the tissue manufacturing process can be enhanced by new technologies, integrating these advancements into our MES and SAP systems. You will be engaged in, and sometimes lead, initial projects such as:

  • Being the MES / PLAIN / Proficy Key User.
  • Acting as the Digitalization Leader for the site.
  • Owning the site's OT (Operational Technology), adhering to Essity's OT security guidelines for malware protection, device hardening, OT/IT segregation, OT segmentation, and access control.
  • Key Activities include:
  • Serving as a Safety Role Model.
  • Managing data records with advanced IT skills using Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Setting, monitoring, and enhancing processes based on Statistical Process Control methods.
  • Demonstrating effective influencing and engaging abilities.
  • Establishing and maintaining process settings and standards (centerlining, CIL), and promoting the application of these standards/systems.
  • Applying knowledge of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA to enhance production line efficiency through data acquisition and analysis.
  • Conducting technical gap analysis in their area of responsibility.
  • Leading small group activities in their technology area, being the site-wide expert for process and technology.
  • Having comprehensive knowledge of MES systems.
  • Developing and supporting MES systems PLAIN / Proficy / Data collection.
  • Overseeing the Data Collector and associated OPC on site.
  • Communicating effectively to collaborate at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
