Direct Payment Specialist

We are seeking enthusiastic, dynamic individuals to work as a Direct Payment Specialist within the wider Adult Support Services Financial Services Team. We are looking for people with varying experience and knowledge across Social Care. Do you have the right level of transferable skills, but you have not been involved in Direct Payments before? Generally, direct payments are money the county council can give to vulnerable adults to buy services or equipment to meet their assessed needs. These payments are instead of having those services provided directly by the council. As a Direct Payment Specialist, you will provide expert advice on Direct Payments to eligible individuals across Gloucestershire and supporting a range of professionals to promote Direct Payments as a choice. You will help customers setting up the direct payment arrangement and you will liaise with customers, care management and other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide information and advice. You will contribute to the maintaining of accurate records of staff and the people who use our service, in electronic format., Our values are at the heart of everything we do and how we treat each other. We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable in their practice, someone who is professionally curious and can maintain a high level of confidentiality. You need to be self-motivated, pragmatic, and resilient. You should have financial acumen to achieve suitable solutions within a pre-set budget and be a confident communicator. You will have the ability to travel throughout the county and carry out appointments with vulnerable adults., It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a 'customer facing role' must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English.
