Director - Built Heritage

You'll be part of our Built Heritage team who have a great reputation and a broad skillset. As one of the leaders within the team, you'll work closely with our experienced Directors and mentor our junior staff to continue to deliver a high-quality service to our clients. You will also work closely with our clients, providing an ongoing service while leading on business development. Your work will include:

• Preparation of Heritage Statements, Feasibility Statements and Environmental Statements
• Expert Witness work, including attendance at Public Inquiries
• Line management and mentoring of junior staff
• Business development, including developing the RPS client base and cross-selling other disciplines
• Liaison with clients, local planning authorities and relevant stakeholders
• Financial management of projects, to ensure they run on time and to budge

  With experience within this sector, you'll already be familiar with what we're looking for.
• A motivated heritage professional, with experience of management and business development
• A track record of providing heritage advice on major projects
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Experience as an Expert Witness
• A relevant degree or master's degree in the conservation of historic buildings and places
• Associate or Full Membership of the IHBC
• Strong knowledge and interest in historic buildings and places
• Excellent knowledge of the English planning system
• A desire for, and commitment to, professional development
