Full Job Description

The Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa (EMEAA) regional team, led by Kenneth Macpherson, Chief Executive Officer, EMEAA, is responsible for the strategy, management, growth and profitability of IHG's most diverse region, and performance of a portfolio of hotels in some of the world's most exciting destinations in both mature and emerging markets. The region operates more than 1,000 open hotels through three Business Units: Europe (EUR), India, Middle East & Africa (IMEA) and East Asia & Pacific (EAPAC). Your day to day This role will be key in providing strategic HR Business Partnering on end to end people strategy for UK&I Managing Director and their leadership team. Driving the delivery of Human Resources priorities, operational plans and systems to support the successful performance of hotels across the division. External focus

  • Build effective relations with franchise hotels including management companies & owners and represent IHG and divisional leadership on industry associations, boards and groups as required . Ensure effective compliance with IHGs risk framework, local policies & regulations, and demographic trends; advises on impact to HR planning as a result of competitor and market trend insights
  • Internal focus
  • Provide strategic partnership across UK&I Division for MD, leadership team, Hotel Operations colleagues, General Managers and Hotel HR Leaders by coaching for performance, influencing the best outcomes, challenging stakeholders and delivering value. Proactively lead strategies to maximise operational effectiveness within Hotels including (where appropriate) organisational design, capability building with the aim to constantly improve workforce optimization
  • Team focus
  • Lead the HR team to relentlessly drive the hotel operations people agenda including talent to value, performance, succession and development planning for top talent. Play a key role together with MD and LT in driving local office engagement and acts as a key liaison to Corporate functional HRBPs at the divisional level or local office

    External stakeholder engagement, influencing and management, with evidence of successful implementation of initiatives externally
  • Excellent interpersonal influencing & communication skills at senior leader level
  • Expert knowledge of Human Resources systems, structures, policies and processes- including influence of local employment law and employee relations experience
  • Experience of understanding and communicating strategies to customers, employees and third parties that reflect highly on the hotel brand
  • High level of business savvy, commercial awareness and issue resolution
