Full Job Description

Responsible for keeping up-to-date with the evolving legal, regulatory, tax and market structure (collectively, "Market Structure") landscape as it relates to Securities Financing (SecFin). In the short to medium term, the main area of focus will be tax, although this may vary over time as different issues become relevant. May also be requested to lead on a global basis on selected issues based on subject matter expertise. As required ongoing engagement with industry bodies (AFME, ISLA etc), providing forward looking analysis to management on forthcoming changes impacting the business and recommended responses.
- Point person in representing the Securities Financing business in internal governance forums and key stakeholders on Market Structure topics in the Americas region, and within EMEA and potentially globally for defined areas of focus.
- Work with and provide SME input to regulatory change teams on deliveries that impact and shape the Securities Financing business.
- Working with clients and traders in highlighting any Market Structure considerations that could impact the business operating model
- Contribution to the evolution and ongoing improvement of the control environment as it pertains to tax risk, including updating of relevant policies & guidelines as required. Ensuring ongoing trader & sales awareness of the global current tax/regulatory environment and adherence to governance requirements.
- Responsible for monitoring and identifying any strategic opportunities as a result of regulatory, market, competitor activity changes to ensure the business remains competitive.
- Assessment of non-standard client and trade proposals with a core focus on Market Structure implications with feedback and recommendations provided to Senior Management. Presentation of relevant risk considerations and appropriate mitigating controls to aid internal governance and approval requirements, ensuring the business continues to operate within risk appetite and in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Working closely with sales, trading, and structuring teams in the execution of transactions and providing post-transaction support for effective management of Market Structure related risks.

Sound Markets background coupled with working experience within a Securities Financing related role.
- A good understanding of legal, regulatory, tax and market structure within Securities Financing.
- Strong communication skills and experience in client and stakeholder management across various functions of the Bank.
- Requires detailed working knowledge of US and EMEA Markets. .
- Able to resolve Business related enquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Experience in working closely with Sales & Trading and providing risk related post-transaction support.
