Director of Design, Growth

We are seeking a hands-on Director of Design to lead our Growth design team. In this pivotal role, you will drive the design strategy and execution for products that fuel Airwallex's growth and optimize revenue streams. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Data Insights to create user-centered experiences that delight customers and drive business results.,

• In this role, you'll report directly to the VP of Design and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data
• Drive measurable business growth through pathfinding, experimentation, and optimization by focusing on the entire end-to-end user journey
• Hire, grow, and retain top design talent
• Manage, coach, and provide feedback to product and visual designers and leads to deliver the final product
• Uphold the craft, improve the process: Ensure the design bar is kept high across visual and interaction design, systems, information architecture, and content strategy
  
  12+ years of professional work experience
• 5+ years of experience leading a product design team, ideally focusing on growth and revenue projects
• BA/BS degree in graphic design, design communication, human-computer interaction, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey design strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Close attention to detail, ability to structure complex problems and inform decisions with data and first-principle insights
• Drive, grit, and persistence to take ownership and move ideas to reality in short periods of time
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: hyper-growth startup environments, software engineering, financial technology
