About the Role: The Director of Education carries out duties in line with the conditions of employment as set out in the current School Teacher's Pay and Conditions document, the National Standards of excellence for Headteachers and the policies and procedures of the Governing Body. As part of the Director of Education role, you will be a statutory Director of the Company under the provisions of the Companies Act 2006. To that extent, the Directors' responsibilities, obligations and liabilities under the Companies Act are applicable to your employment with Young Foundations.,

  • Take the lead role on strategic school improvement and school development across Young Foundations, whilst embracing, excellence, high standards and inclusion.
  • Translate the organisational vision for Education Excellence into a clearly structured, accountable, and measurable development plan, with timescales for improvement and a clear remit of accountability.
  • Secure excellent leadership across all Young Foundations schools, to achieve high standards of strategic delivery and leadership across the group, alongside cost control and budgetary accountability.
  • Hold each school leader to account for their professional conduct and practice.
  • Ensure inclusion, diversity, and access.
  • Lead by example to foster an open, transparent, and equitable culture.
  • To be responsible for the strategic, organisational management and control of each school.
  • Manage and plan finances and resources astutely to maximise their use and value.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with the Proprietor and Managing Director on his behalf to ensure effective centralised, Proprietorial governance of the schools, and the discharge of the Education Business Board's responsibilities.
  • Build, develop and maintain effective relationships across the organisation to ensure standards of education are held within the highest of regard.
  • Create an outward-facing, strategic presence across each of the schools.
  • To take on the role of Chair of Governors for all schools across the organisation
