Full Job Description

As the Director of Governance & DPO, you will hold a senior position within the Corporation, reporting directly to the Chair of the Corporation for governance matters and the Principal & CEO for data protection responsibilities. This unique, stand-alone role requires a highly professional individual with the capability to promote and uphold the highest standards of governance and data protection within the organisation.,

  • Governance:


  • Provide independent advice on legal and ethical issues affecting the Corporation.


  • Prepare Board agendas, minutes, and action plans.


  • Ensure the Corporation operates within its legal powers and evaluate its governance effectiveness.


  • Data Protection:


  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws.


  • Develop and maintain data protection policies.


  • Manage data breaches and handle FOI requests., This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping the governance and data protection landscape within a leading educational institution. You will work closely with senior leaders and Governors, making a real impact on the strategic direction and compliance of the organisation.
