Full Job Description

  • Playing the organ and/or keyboard at the Ascension Sunday services, major festivals (Christmas,

  • Easter, Ascension), and when required at St Mary's
  • Providing musical accompaniment at seasonal and occasional services (such as in Holy Week and

  • at Christmas) and events (such as Christmas concerts in the pub) as required
  • Leading rehearsals when required including weekly rehearsals for the Worship Band

  • Playing for weddings and funerals by agreement

  • Assisting in planning music at both churches

  • Leading in the development and recruitment of musicians and of music in worship

  • Advising in the purchase of new equipment (soon a new professional standard keyboard for the

  • Ascension)
  • Maintaining the CCL records, We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Director of Music to join our Parish team in West

    Ability to play the organ and/or keyboard to a good standard

  • Competent singer

  • Experience in leading a variety of rehearsals, including a Worship Band

  • Strong musical repertoire and ideas, encompassing hymns, worship music and other material for

  • services and events
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Committed Christian and active member of our church

  • Desirable - working knowledge of sound equipment and AV equipment

    London. Based primarily at the Ascension, you will play a key role in enhancing our worship services

  • and events through the power of music.
    Our worship is recognisably Anglican in style using a blend of contemporary and traditional music
    and an emphasis on Biblical teaching. Our vision is to be a Christian community committed to praying,
    welcoming and growing. Our aim is to help people connect with God and to connect God to the
    whole of life.

    This is a part-time position of 8 hours per week to start as soon as practicable. Salary £7,400 per
    annum. Holidays 6 weeks (FTE) including 6 Sundays. Appointment is subject to Safer Recruitment
    processes as set out in the Church of England's safeguarding policies.
