Full Job Description

Accountable to the ICB Deputy Chief Finance Officer, the Director of Operational Finance will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Chief Finance Officer and ICS/ICB Directors in the leadership, stewardship and development of the ICS/ICB financial regime and leading on the operational financial aspects of ICS development and transformation. The Director of Operational Finance will: Support the Deputy Chief Finance Officer and other system leaders in ensuring maximum benefit and best value for the population of Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire and Berkshire West through the management and reporting of financial resources and driving productivity and efficiency opportunities to improve value and reduce cost. To be responsible, with the Deputy Chief Finance Officer, for ensuring that the ICB and ICS discharges its financial management and oversight duties and by doing so, delivers value for money and improved health and wellbeing outcomes for its population.

The BOB ICB covers the geography across three counties and goes in line with the local authority boundaries of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Reading, West Berkshire and Wokingham. Our geography covers a population of nearly 1.8 million. Our constituent organisations include 175 GP surgeries, 5 local authorities, 3 acute hospital trusts, 2 mental health and community providers, 1 ambulance trust and a single operating model across all of this, spending £2.5bn of public money each year.
