Full Job Description

The Site Director of Operations is accountable for the strategic development, operational and clinical performance, business planning and management and leadership of a number of specialisms within a Care Group structure.
Given the size of the site and number of specialisms there is a COO and two Directors of Operations covering King's College Hospital and associated sites.
The Site Director of Operations will work alongside the Site Medical Directors, Site Director of Nursing, Site Director of Finance and People., Working as part of the Trust's senior leadership team, the Site Director of Operations will ensure that service objectives are implemented and, as a key member of the hospital executive team, will accept shared accountability for the hospital meeting its strategic, operational, and financial objectives.
Reporting to the Site Chief Executive, the Site Director of Operations is accountable for the delivery of the operational and clinical performance in a number of specialisms at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill and associated sites and for Trust wide services delivered by the Denmark Hill senior leadership team. The Site Director of Operations is responsible for providing strong leadership to senior management reports, ensuring that effective management and performance systems are in place.
The post-holder will be responsible for the annual site capacity planning based on realistic and agreed demand assumptions working with other Directors of Operations to review planning across the group., · Provide strong leadership to senior management reports, ensuring that effective management and performance systems are in place.
· Ensure staff are empowered to develop, lead and implement changes in service delivery in line with Group strategy and agreed Trust objectives.
· Lead on the development of a culture of continuous improvement in order to meet quality, financial, performance targets and standards ensuring clinical services deliver against their plans, meeting targets within budget.
1. Strategic Development of the Trust and Group Model
· Work as a dynamic, innovative and inclusive leader using a positive, strong influencing and coaching style to ensure all services in the hospital unit run effectively and to budget - ensuring that the hospital site and the wider Trust are portrayed in a positive, collaborative manner.
· To promote and support the work across the system ensuring the site is a visible and impactful part of system planning that delivers the best patient care and staff experience.
· To contribute to the Group strategy through local insights and to implement Group strategy locally.
Operational and Clinical Performance
· With the Site Executive Team and other Trust senior leaders seek out opportunities to challenge poor practice in all areas including clinical quality, patient experience and operational effectiveness and put remedial actions in place to ensure and evidence improvement and demonstrate that quality and safety are of the utmost priority in the daily operation of the hospital.
· To provide expert advice to colleagues on all appropriate operational issues, ensuring the achievement of NHS targets, whilst ensuring the safe provision of high quality patient focused services, in particular ED performance, RTT 18 week's delivery and cancer targets.
· Monitor and evaluate service delivery and performance, providing accurate and appropriate information in accordance with Trust requirements.
