Full Job Description

As the Director of Sales Development, you'll have a unique opportunity to build and lead the creation of our Sales Development function. This role requires a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader who can define the strategy, recruit top talent and create the systems and processes needed to generate a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities for our New Client Acquisition team. You'll collaborate across the Director group to align the Sales Development function with wider goals and play a pivotal role in driving Corndel's long-term growth. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and launch the Sales Development strategy and processes
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure success
  • Define and implement scalable processes and best practices for lead generation and qualification
  • Recruit, hire and onboard the first Sales Development Representatives (SDRs)
  • Deliver against a personal qualified lead target
  • Set clear goals and hold the team accountable for delivering results
  • Partner with Marketing to optimise lead generation strategies and campaigns
  • Work closely with the Sales team to ensure successful handovers of qualified leads
  • Gather and share insights on market trends, customer pain points and competitor insights
  • Identify and implement tools and technology to support the Sales Development team
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards to track progress and provide visibility to senior leadership.
  • Continuously refine and improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

  • Experience and Skills: Essential:
  • Proven experience building and leading Sales Development or related teams.
  • Track record of creating successful lead generation strategies and delivering measurable results
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales processes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and listening skills
  • High levels of organisation and personal accountability
  • Drive to be a high performer in a sales environment
  • The ability to take initiative and establish effective systems, processes, and collaborative ways of working
  • Desirable:
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of different business environments and priorities
  • Consultative sales approach, focused on listening, adding value, and building lasting partnerships
