Full Job Description

The Director of Security - EMEA is responsible for leading all security-related activities for Warner Bros. Discovery's (WBD) EMEA region (not including the UK or Poland). This includes devising and implementing policies and procedures to deal with all aspects of security-related matters, such as the day-to-day operational running of the department, emergencies, investigations, physical and intellectual security, building projects, company events, and how the security teams respond to a crisis. The role includes collaborating with members of the International Security team, the wider Global Security team and other key stakeholders. The position involves being on call outside normal business hours.,

  • Serve as principal security representative for Warner Bros. Discovery Global Security in the EMEA region (not including the UK or Poland). The position requires management of the contract security teams, specifically their security operations, administration, and to regularly review contracts. Negotiate, where appropriate, for competitive rates and high-quality products and services. Leverage technical security, where applicable, to provide for a comprehensive security program for all WBD's principal locations in EMEA. Ensure office employees are properly trained on emergency response procedures and communication. Organise and occasionally deliver additional security for special events and outside broadcast locations.
  • Maintain oversight on security issues for all WBD EMEA locations. Conduct security audits at company locations in the region to assess risks and make recommendations where necessary, in accordance with the Site Security & Threat Audit (SSTA) program. Identify security weaknesses and implement solutions to reduce risks and threats to the employees, company assets and business operations, whether they be existing facilities or new building projects. This will involve being on call outside normal business hours and the ability to travel to locations throughout EMEA to accommodate crises, emergencies, and support employees on business travel or assignment and various World time zones.
  • Adhere to and follow WBD Global Security policies and procedures and ensure appropriate manuals, emergency action plans, on-site instructions etc. are maintained and updated. Develop and implement policies and procedures and maintain current documentation. Act as the principal WBD Global Security representative for the EMEA crisis response teams and provide guidance to the Situation Support Partners (SSPs) and, when appropriate, business leaders on matters that may impact business continuity.
  • Communicate regularly with the WBD International Security Lead about activities occurring in the region. Act on any instruction received from the WBD International Security Lead and assist with other security operations as required.
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies and maintain a good working relationship with relevant local points of contact. Investigate matters considered to be detrimental to the company and its employees, including acts of criminal activity against the organisation. Liaise with the WBD Global Security Intelligence & Investigations team and relevant internal stakeholders including but not limited to People & Culture, Corporate Communications and Legal.
  • Liaise with business leadership and the WBD executive team on a regular basis to advise on security best practices for issues that could negatively affect or improve the security of individual departments and the company. The WBD executive team is to be updated as needed on key security-related activities and when required for urgent matters.

    Leadership experience, especially when responding to crisis and incidents.
  • Knowledge of security services, such as guarding, systems, investigations/surveillance, close protection, events, equipment and vendors providing these services.
  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills to ensure the highest security service is provided to WBD businesses, balancing security and business needs.
  • Attention to detail and good English verbal and written communication skills. A second language is an advantage.
  • Candidate should ideally have a bachelor's degree in a security/business related field, or significant experience and security related qualifications.
  • Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
